In this article, you will find:

  • Navigation guidance for accessing the Penetration Testing feature.

  • The process of reviewing test results and resolving identified issues.

Accessing the Penetration Testing Feature

The Penetration Testing area can be accessed by selecting Scanning > Vulnerability Management > Penetration Testing, as shown below:

Reviewing Completed Penetration Tests

Once your Penetration Test has completed, it will show the Finished status on the main results table, as shown in the example provided below:

This table will provide a quick, high-level overview of the scan results. Let's go through the information available to us:

  • Scan ID: A unique identifier for the scan.

  • Scan Type: What was chosen to be scanned.

  • Status: Shows the current progress of the scan.

  • Started: What time the scan began.

  • Tests Completed: The number of checks that were conducted against the subject.

  • Vulnerabilities: How many issues were detected during the scan.

  • Scan Report: A downloadable report generated by the platform, detailing all of the detected vulnerabilities, and associated recommendations.

  • Target: The URL, link, address etc. of the chosen subject.

If you would like more information about the results of a Penetration Test, you can press 'Review' on the right hand side of a completed scan, as visible in the above image. You can see an example of this below:

While some on the information on this page has already been covered above, there is some extra information on here that we should cover.

  • End Time: The time the scan finished.

  • Initiated By: Which user authorised the scan.

  • Vulnerability Indicators: These four coloured numbers show how many vulnerabilities you have, and the impact they have on your chosen area.

  • Document: A downloadable document containing a report regarding identified issues.

Scan Results

If you would prefer to view the identified issues within the OneClickComply platform, rather than downloading a report, they can be viewed within the Scan Results area.

To access this area, simply scroll down past the Document section, as shown below:

Viewing scan results and recommendations

This area will mirror the downloadable report, displaying the identified vulnerabilities, a description of the risk, recommendations for resolving them, and associated evidence that was gathered during the test.
