Viewing Controls

There are two ways that users can access the controls of a compliance standard. These are:

  1. Selecting Controls on a particular standard within the Standards area
  2. Selecting Control Management from the main navigation bar.

The main difference between these two options is that selecting Controls on a specific standard from the Standards page will take you directly to the controls of that standard, whereas Control Management will take you to a list of all controls for all the standards you currently have set as Active.

Let's have a look at the controls page for ISO 27001:

As shown in the example above, selecting Controls on an individual standard will provide the following:

  • A brief description of the standard
  • Your current implementation progress in percentage form
  • A list of all currently active controls for that standard, with other pages for both Paused and Outscoped controls.

Let's look at the currently active controls for ISO 27001.

Active Controls

Every compliance standard is broken up into multiple subsections called 'Controls.' These are the criteria that your business needs to meet in order to be considered compliant with the standard. If we look again to the example above, we can see a handful of the controls for ISO 27001.

In the OneClickComply platform, each control will have a:

  • Control Title - A short outline of the control's requirements.
  • Status - A tag showing whether the task has been started, is in progress, has been completed, or is out of scope.
  • Auditor Approval - Shows whether the control has been reviewed and accepted by an auditor.
  • % Complete - Your current alignment with that control.

Each standard has multiple controls, and each control can contain multiple 'Tasks'. These tasks need to be completed in order to meet the requirements of the control, and the standard overall.

Paused and Outscoped Controls

The Paused Controls area, as the name suggests, only shows controls that have been set as Paused. Any controls set to Paused will have their current completion progress saved, but will not appear in the Active controls list.

The Outscoped Controls area will only show controls that have been Outscoped. Controls that have been Outscoped will not appear in the Active Controls area as they are considered either irrelevant or not applicable to your business and its compliance with that standard.

Control Management Area

The Control Management area differs only slightly from the Standard control area. Control Management shows all of the controls across all of your currently Active standards, and has specific filters for Standard, Status, and Auditor Approval. It also has the same three seperate areas for Active, Paused, and Outscoped Controls.
