Starting Penetration Test

To initiate the penetration test, select Pen Testing from the main navigation bar.

There are two methods of starting a penetration test on a target:

Option 1

Select the Run Scan button in the top-right corner of the page.

Note: Please ensure that a target asset has been created before attempting to run a scan. If a target has not been created, the Run Scan option will be unavailable.

A small drop down menu will appear, listing the targets that you can conduct a scan against.

Select the target you wish to scan to open a confirmation pop-up. You can use the Scanner drop down on this window to change the type of scan conducted to one of the following:

• Website: For your web application and pages.

• API: To test the security of your data connections.

• Network Scanner: To check your infrastructure.

To begin the penetration test, click the Launch scan button. The results of the scan will be available on the main dashboard of the Pen Testing page once the test has completed.

Option 2

Select the target from the Targets & Cadence area of the Pen Testing page.

On the newly opened side panel, click the Run Scan button.

This will open a confirmation pop-up. You can use the Scanner drop down on this window to change the type of scan conducted to one of the following:

• Website: For your web application and pages.

• API: To test the security of your data connections.

• Network Scanner: To check your infrastructure.

To begin the penetration test, click the Launch scan button. The results of the scan will be available on the main dashboard of the Pen Testing page once the test has completed.
