In this article, you will find:
Navigation guidance for accessing the controls of standards, and the tasks associated with each control.
Important information about how controls and tasks operate within the OneClickComply platform.
There are three methods of accessing the controls of a standard. These are:
Through the homepage.
Through the Compliance Standards page.
Through the Control Management area.
See below for information regarding each of these navigation routes.
On the homepage of the OneClickComply platform, simply select the standard that you wish to view the controls of. This will open a new page that only shows the controls of that specific standard. As an example, selecting the ISO 27001 card on the homepage will only show the controls related to ISO 27001.

Accessing controls via the homepage
From the main navigation bar, select Compliance > Controls and Standards > Standards.

Navigation guidance for the standards page
On this new page, any standard that has an Active or Paused status tag will have an additional option called Controls. Selecting this will bring you to the control management area for the selected standard.

Accessing controls via the compliance standards page
From the main navigation bar, select Compliance > Controls and Standards > Control Management.

Navigation guidance for the control management area
This method differs from the previous two options, as the resulting page will list all the controls for all compliance standards that are current set as Active within your account.
Let's have a look at the controls page for ISO 27001:

Example screenshot of control management area
Note: If you access this page through the Control Management navigation route, there will be an additional option to filter by compliance standard.
Inside this area, standards are broken down into their individual controls. Each control has the following:
Control Title: A short outline of the control's requirements.
Status: A tag showing whether the task has been started, is in progress, has been completed, or is out of scope.
Auditor Approval: Shows whether the control has been reviewed and accepted by an auditor.
% Complete: Your current alignment with that control.
To view a control in more detail, hover over the desired control and select the Open option, as shown below:

Opening control details
You will then be presented with the following page, providing more information about the chosen control, such as a more detailed description, specific evidence guidance, and a timestamp of when the control was last updated.

When reviewing a control in detail, scroll down the page to view the specific tasks associated with this control.
As outlined previously, tasks will be split into two categories: Technical or Operational.
Technical tasks represent gaps in your security posture that have been automatically detected by the OneClickComply platform, and should be remediated as soon as possible. Completing these tasks will bring your settings and controls into alignment with the control, thus bringing you closer to overall compliance with your chosen standard(s). See below for an example:

Technical task examples
Operational tasks are administrative actions that your organisation must follow or implement in order to be considered compliant. Operational tasks also require evidence to be manually attached to the task in order to prove completion. See below for an example:

Operational task examples
For more information about completing both technical and operational tasks, please see our dedicated support article.
